Snow Alarm in Turkey According to the authorities of meteorology the weather will get colder and heavy snow is expected throughout the country beginning form Monday. In Istanbul the tempetarue will drop to -5/-7°C in day time while the temperatue in Central and Eastern regions will be around -15/-25°.
Meteorology officials said that a cold front approaching Turkey will bring with it some of the most severe winter weather experience in the country for many years.
Snow has already cut many roads in eastern and south eastern Turkey, also closing the airport in the capital Ankara.
While parts of the country are already in the grip of extreme winter weather, experts warn that the new front, expected to hit Turkey early next week, will be far worse.
Daytime temperatures in Istanbul are predicted to fall below - 5º celsius on Monday, with even the usually temperate Aegean city of Izmir expected to experience a daytime maximum of - 4º celsius.
Authorities warned against heavy snowfalls in the Marmara region on the Monday and Tuesday and that temperature would be below zero throughout Turkey barring the southern Mediterranean region.
The cold front is not expected to leave Turkey until Thursday.

focus now on Turkish market The law facilitating ownership of land by foreigners has been approved by the Grand National Assembly. It is now a matter of time for Europeans investing 35 billions of euros in other countries to rotate towards Turkey. The second address for Europeans will now be Turkey instead of Spain.

Antalya chosen to host UEFA European Under – 17 Championship. UEFA’s Executive Committe’s first meeting of 2006 was made in Nyon, Switzerland. And committe has confirmed the veneu fort he final rounds of the 2007 – 08 and 2008 – 09 UEFA European Under – 17 Championship with hosting the tournaments going to Turkey and Germany.
Turkish success:
The Antalya region of Turkey will hold the finals of the 2007-08 competition with Turkey having claimed the trophy last season with a display of scintillating attacking football in Italy. The country also triumphed at U-16 level in the 1993-94 campaign having staged the final tournament the previous year in addition to the final version of the UEFA-CAF Meridian Cup in its previous incarnation in February 2005.
Proud history:
Germany, meanwhile, has hosted the U-17 finals and its U-16 predecessor on three separate occasions. West Germany was the venue for the 1984 edition of the tournament, which was played in East Germany six seasons later and the unified country was then awarded hosting rights for 1996-97. The nation has ruled Europe at this level twice before, with West Germany triumphing in 1984 and the reunited country taking the honors in 1991/92. 27 January 2006 - 16:41:29 - 5 day(s)

New Municipality Building for Ölüdeniz planned for 2007 The new municipality building of Ölüdeniz will be constructed next to the Health Center. The building is planned to be in two stories and the project for the construction is prepared free of charge by the Nicholas Construction Company.
The Mayor of Ölüdeniz, Karemettin Yýlmaz, said that the project will be completed in January, adding. “We want our new building to be the best. We have sufficient financial means and plan to complete the work prior to the construction season in 2007.”
Keramettin Yýlmaz made the following comments: “We plan to have a two-story building. As the Ölüdeniz Municipality, we do not want any commercial concerns within the building. Some major supermarkets expressed their wish to rent certain spaces but we intend to have only offices there. There will be a statue of Ataturk in front of the building and that area will be used for official ceremonies. At the moment we have sufficient funds for the construction but we wish to take our time to have the best results. As soon as the summer is over in 2006, we shall start the construction and the building will be ready for the 2007 season.
Mayor Keramettin Yýlmaz also briefly outlined the construction work in process during the winter season, saying: “I am greatly satisfied with this work especially during these winter months. Numerous establishments are tearing down their existing buildings to build new ones to provide better holiday facilities for the incoming guests which indicate that our town will be greatly improved for the forthcoming season. As you know, constructions are permitted during the period between the 1st of November and the 30th of April. Our tourism sector is definitely conscious of this time limit and plan accordingly. After the 30th of April we as the municipality will not permit any activities causing noise and visual pollution. As in previous year, we shall be opening the tourism season on the 1st of April.”
