Hi all, great to find this forum ;D I have been visiting Turkey for 10 years. We go independantly and travel around. Don't get that far as we can only go for a week at a time. This year we are staying in Dalyan, Olu Deniz and Kas.

Already posted this somewhere else Bulent. We will come to Koygekiz. It sounds lovely and we will have a jeep so we can go where we want when we want. Used to do all my travelling on the dolmus, but the last few years have got a bit braver. The transport is so easy in Turkey. I have also found that if you don't make too many plans things just happen. You end up just letting things happen. We were in Cirali heading for Olympos with nowwhere booked to stay. The owner of the restaurant where we had lunch had a cousin in Olympos, so he rang him, booked our room for us and off we went! That's what I love about the place, people will put themselves out to help you.

Thanks everyone for the welcome. Wish I had found this forum before I booked. I have already booked into a pansiyon in Dalyan, Lindos is the name of it. Oba campsite in Olu Deniz in a "bungalow" which is like a big garden shed, and at the Hilal Pension in Kas. The Hilal is a small place, it has a roof terrace and Suleyman the owner is really friendly and helpful. I hate to tempt fate, but it really is easy to drive. Fethiye can be a bit of a nightmare, but the main roads are quiet and you can doddle along at your own pace, stopping wherever you want for lunch, drinks etc. I like a jeep because you still get the air and sun on you whilst travelling. I have been going with a girlfriend for years, and felt safe, only had a couple of incidents with Turkish men in the bigger resorts. Some of them see women alone and think they must be after a man! Not in my case,I'm married with 3 kids and go to Turkey because I love the country. They soon realise you are not interested, no harm done. I have finally managed to persuade my hubby to take a holiday, so he can see what he has been missing all this time! I would love to buy a property there, but will have to wait until kids are settled and financially independant. Don't know when that will be!

Hiya Nic, Well you sound as though you have a really good holiday when you go to Turkey making the most of every minute you are there. I am a confident driver but I wouldn't fancy driving in Turkey you have gutts! It's good that you have pursuaded hubby to go and see what it's like I bet he will get hooked like all of us.
The places you are staying in sound good I bet you see lots of culture.
We are going back to Calis Beach for the second time although we have been going to Turkey for many years but Calis is quiet and laid back which is what we like on holiday.

Memhet, the restaurant manager from the Belcekiz Beach hotel in Olu lives in Calis. He is married with a little girl and a boxer dog. He says it is a lovely place to live.

Yes Calis is a lovely place we went for the first time last year and stayed in a Turkish Villa on a residential estate (SerinKent)with a communial pool - lovely gargens amongst local doctors and dentists and their families such nice people (take a look at pics I posted in holiday Photos) it was excellent we loved it so we decided to go back again this year to the same estate different villa can't wait.

Merhaba Nic, welcome to this fantastic friendly forum. We have stayed at the Belcekiz Beach hotel and we know Mehmet, what a character. He got me every time with his cup and saucer trick, do you know the one I mean, he's a good laugh. We have been to Turkey for the last 10 years and have stayed in Side, Olu Deniz and Icmeler. We are going back to Icmeler in August for 11 nights, can't wait. Enjoy your jeep holiday ;D ;D ;D
