Hello all :-)
I moved to Turkey in July 2005. Bought a villa in Mavisehir which is my little bit of heaven. Its about 20 mins dolmus ride from Altinkum, past the Apollon Temple.
Am working in an Estate Agents (yep another one!). But I took a TEFL course in the UK so that I could come here and teach English = Just has not worked out that way.....yet!
Have made some very good friends, English and Tukish and have no regrets about uping sticks. My son and his friend came out and spent the whole summer here, they are back in Blighty now working hard and saving to come back in Feb for the whole season.
Love everything about it here, apart from the rain!!
During one of my creative spells, I wrote the following about living here - I'll leave u with that for now. Kym x
You’ll find me where the sun shines
Where the breeze is coloured blue
Where rivers sparkle & fish jump
And people smile at you
Where spirýts soar and eyes open
To ancient history
Where peaceful souls enjoy lýfe
Thats where you will find me
Where everyday there is beauty
Kindness and room to breathe
Where the open sky enfolds you
And makes you a part of me
You’ll find me where the sun shines
In this land of soft brown skin
Where my soul can nurture
and be happy from within
