Merhaba and welcome to this wonderful forum, mansfieldstag. Don't know anything about furniture relating to your question, but a warm welcome anyway. ;D

Hi I had a lot of fun furnishing our villa in July. I'll help if I can. What would you like to know?

Hi Have just registered for this forum and would be very interested on any information regarding a furnishing property. We are expecting to come out in June to sort out our place in Ovacik. We are trying to combine it with a holiday but only have a week, so it may be a bit hectic Regards Greg

hi Greg good luck with the furnishing. I'm in a different area but i'm happy to share furnishing experiences. If you have any Turkish neighbours who are prepared to go shopping with you it might help get the prices down a bit. I made a full list room by room of all things I thought I would need. It was a huge help as it is quite overwhelming when you get in these shops. While my house was being built, I nipped out for a week and went round all the shops getting brochures and familiarising myself with the prices. I took a floor plan and room sizes and a tape measure everywhere. I also found a very good carpenter and had quite a bit made to my own design. I had curtains and bedding made (very reasonable). Towels and some kitchen ware came from the market. Along with a trolleybag you know the kind that old ladies have here. My family took the mickey but it's been fantastic! Most white goods have a 7 year guarantee, make sure the shop stamps and signs them. I ordered beds, sofas and curtains and fridge 6 weeks before i was due to move in and my agent made sure it was all in a couple of days before. The rest I did in about 3 days. I did it all without a car!! I used dolmus, feet and taxis. Most of the shopkeepers ran me home after I had bought from them. If it's any help i can give you a list of the kind of prices I paid. I did a 3 bedroomed villa with mostly good quality stuff for about £3K.

Thanks Mutlu I will certainly use some of your ideas. I like the thought of getting a carpenter to make up some bespoke furniture, especially as we may be pushed for space. Has anyone else got any other suggestions as I'm sure this must be helpful to a lot of members Regards Greg
