Take a lot of this with a pinch of salt. I suspect it's rumour mongering If in doubt about anything of this nature then check out the BBC News website, I always do and can tell you there is nothing mentioned at all.

Never heard of anything and I live here in Istanbul. I will say that there are the odd greeck/cypriot/armenian trouble makers about who will do anything to discredit Turkey or rock the boat shall we say. One example from an email I recieved to which I then forwarded to my mates in HSBC and the British consulate. BA & HSBC had sponsered a conference in Yerevan, Armenia. conference was 3 days and right at the end one person got up and broke the rules by shouting a load of anti-turkish comments and going on about 1915. BA & HSBC knew nothing about this persons agenda and they make sure to check all speeches before hand. Now it has been planted in the hands of Turkish nationalists and they mass email saying HSBC & BA support Armenians blah blah and to boycott these companies and kick them out of the country. If this happened it would be a huge blow to the Turkish economy and this would be just the thing these individuals would want. After chatting to the director at HSBC, he found out that the email being circulated by the Turkish nationalists infact originated from Larnaka.
