Hi Folks, I am just wondering what Side is like? Has anyone been, would you recommend it? I have visited Kusadasi, Olu Deniz, Bodrum, Gumbet, Izmir and Istanbul. I am finding it hard to decide where to go this Summer. So far it is between - Olu Deniz or Side (but any other suggestions would be welcome) ..I am just worried that Olu Deniz is a bit in the middle of nowhere. :/ Whats the nightlife like there? and in Side? Sorry for all my questions. I'm just really confooooozed about where to go. Although - I think it's impossible to go anywhere in Turkey and not have a good time. But any info will be greatly appriciated. Cheeeeeeeeeeers.

Oludeniz is a lovely resort a very big beach and you have the Blue Lagoon. A very lively night life with plenty of shops and restuarants. Most people would go up to Hisaronu in the evening where there are hundreds of shops and restuarants it's only a short bus ride the dolmus are running evry few minutes and go on late . You can stay in Hisaronu were it is cooler then Oludeniz because it is in the mountaines.,if we went in July or August we would stay there . You can get to Fethiye direct very quickly from Oludeniz and Hisaronu So you have 3 resorts in one.. I hope this helps ,if you wont any more information on hotels ,restuarants etc please ask

Hiya Kiz, well we've stayd in both Olu Deniz and Side, both totally different sorts of resorts really. It all comes down to personal taste. Bob likes Hisaronu, but we prefer Olu Deniz as it's right on the beach and I think it is prettier (sos Bob as I said personal taste) It does get very hot in July and August though as Bob said, we stayed in Olu in August last year phew.......... Side is very historical and has a long beach, not quite as pretty as Olu, the Germans go to Side but we learned a little German while we were out there. We stayed in a village called Kumkoy which was full of character. There are a lot of All Inclusive hotels in Side often cheaper than the Olu ones. Side itself has loads of bars and restaurants and shops selling the usual jewellery and leather, and genuine fakes etc. Shops are much better in Side than Olu, but as usual they try to get you in by any means but it's just part and parcel of Turkish life, and as you probaly know being a Turkey fan a polite no thanks perhaps later will often be well received. Hope this helps a little. Sherefey

Thank you both very much for your replies. I think I might goto Olu Deniz then, I like the idea of having other resorts nearby. When I went to Bodrum..I loved the fact that Gumbet was just down the road so we had the choice of two resorts. Plus i've heard how beautiful it is..AND I'll finally get to visit my dream place - Butterfly Valley! Thanks again folks x
