:(We received a letter today from a well known tour operator who have cancelled their contract with the hotel Marti in icmeler, and therefore had to cancel our holiday in August. We were offered alternative holiday in Olu Deniz (is that anywhere near icmeler, no I don't think so)!!!!!Needless to say we said that it was unacceptable and they are going to return our deposit so we spent all this morning trying to re-book our holiday with another tour operator. Our leave had been booked at work and couldn't be changed! We have managed to get the hotel we originally booked, together with the dates we required but this has cost us a lot more! Has this happened to anyone else out there? Oh well at least we are still able to go back to Turkey next year.

I wanted to book the Hotel Destan in Hisaronu in the brochure Thomas cook had it and the Hotel Destan said they had a contract with them,when I tried to book this Thomas cook said they no longer go to this hotel and Cosmas is featuring the hotel the Destan .The booking office at this hotel didn't now about this. Strange

We had a farce trying to book the Hotel Bozbey in Hisaronu, could only find it in one brochure (sunset) and the travel agents could find no mention of it anywhere when we tried to book it  Managed to book it with Thomas Cook on the web, even though the Thomas Cook shop had no record of it! My parents were in Cyprus when their tour operator went bust, leaving them to book alternative flight home at their own cost They got their money back, but only recently and their hol was last August. |

Grrrrrrrrr they've just had to change mine Hotel Bozbey in Hisaronu have cancelled all bookings for summer 06 and I have been offered accommodation in Ovacik, would prefer something more central though  Will ring them tomorrow and see what else they can offer me. d**n inconvenience! Stress I could do without, busy enough trying to sort out a massive new account  |

They haven't said, though I do know that the hotel changed hands at the end of last season They've offered us the Monta Verde instead, not quite sure if I'm going to take it yet as it is in Ovacik, 2km from the resort centre. Will be handy for my usual 7am jog though! |

What annoys me more than anything is that I've always stayed at that hotel and the location is perfect.

We've decided to stay at the Monta Verde after all, in Ovacik but not that far out, and the facilites look good, better than the Bozbey's.
I am determined to find out why the bookings are cancelled, wonder if they're turning the hotel into apartments or hiring it out privately?

Have any of you ever booked things independantly ? I've never dared to so curious about others experience? I often book independantly I don't seem to have problems. If you know some the hotels it makes it easier as they can arrange transfers.I am going to Majorca in January I booked the Hotel,the flight and the car hire all direct. I often go away in winter and when I do I always arrange this mrself. The turkey holiday I was going to arrange myself I had all the prices but the flight shot up si I booked through Thomas Cook it worked out at £100 cheaper per person but the flights was not as good,but you can't have every thing . |

We were going to do that this year but the flights shot up so we booked with a tour operator ans saved £100 each with no hassle. ;D |
