What's it like? Travelling with small children, so want sunshine but not too hot... don't know when the best time would be to go

My favourite time is mid September, still hot and sunny but not too unpleasant. October is a little milder but still pleasant enough to get a suntan. We had rain a couple of times in October, but the showers soon passed.

We went the last week of September/first week of October and the weather was great. Not too hot during the day (but enough to get a suntan!) and very pleasant in the evenings. It rained a couple of times but was still warm. May is also a good time to go.

Went to Icmeler for a week in mid Sept and it was sunny every day and warm in the evenings . Also went for the last week in October and again sunny and warm during the day, but it got a bit breezy on the last day; nights weren't as warm as Sept though - patio heaters were out in several bars Beware of wasps, bees and little biting flies though - there were far more than we have seen in July/August............Boots sell a brilliant device for getting stings out painlessly. We're defo investing in one before our next trip

Is it warm enough the last week of October to sit by the pool and go for a swim? We went to calis this year in May and every day it rained and the wind would start to come over by 11 o'clock every morning. our friends were staying at Olu Deniz and had lovely weather the same week! So strange, or were we just very unlucky?

Every time I went to Calis it was either rainy or cloudy! Should be just warm enough in the last week of October, although my friend went to Hisaronu at the end of October this year and found it quite cold She is used to going in the middle of August though!

This will depend on the area in Turkey that you are going to. Late October in Hisaronu it's quite cold in the evernings and the pools are cold .Oludenize is a lot warmer.

Thanks all for your comments. Interesting Emma that you found calis to be a bit cool as well. We went to Olu Deniz in August and it was sooooo very hot you couldn't walk around the pool without sandals on otherwise you would burn your feet!

Unfortunately, it's really the only time we can go as I work in a school and during the shorter school holidays I work in a holidaycare setting. Still, find me a shady place, a sunbed, good book, and a looooooong drink (a raki or 2) and I'm in 7th heaven! It's either going toTurkey in August or not going at all hm hm hm difficult that one!!Oh the things we have to do in life......

Given that choice, think I may have to suffer in the sun

To suffer or not to suffer that is the question ?
