Im flying to Altinkum on Friday evening , arrive early middle of night/morning, Whilst out there i want to look at property but not purchase any for a few weeks when my finances have been sorted.
What i need to know is it basically like the Uk where you can walk into a estate agent and look at what they have to offer then go and view property etc or is it different - i have purchased a book but with having eye problems i will need to scan the book to enlarge the text to read this, but at the moment i simply dont have time to do this, so any hints welcome.
Thanks

Hi Cal. I did it last year. It is not at all like buying a house in the UK and you must be very very careful. There are plenty of people waiting to take your money. You must be absolutely sure that you use a registered agent. There are all sorts of people from waiters to taxi drivers who will tell you they have houses for sale DO NOT go through them. Agents will wine and dine you and tell you to be quick in making up your mind. Do not be fooled, it's your money, take your time. You must find a reputable agent and a good lawyer. An agent is easy to find by word of mouth. The lawyer is essential as there are so many pitfalls. We, I'm afraid had a bad lawyer who made it all very worrying, so again you must find a good one. You should use the time you have to do plenty of home work. If you can't see too well you need to find someone to talk you through it. Get someone to read the book with you. Find a good agent who will explain the whole process carefully. There are many costs involved and it's very important to know about these before you start. You must also be aware that in Altinkum it's a buyers market. There are lots of resale properties that stay on the market for a long time. So do not pay the full price. Consider looking in other areas. Consider renting for a while. The answer to your question is yes you can walk into an agents office and they will probably whisk you off straight away to look at properties but don't let them rush you into a purchase. There are plenty of properties out there especially in Altinkum. Good luck, be careful and I'm sure you'll find the best place for you. I'm happy to pass on any information you need. I have made plenty of mistakes and have learnt from them. I should think Bulent on here would have lots of knowledge and I'm sure he has plenty of lovely properties in his area (I'm told it's beautiful there). My place is in Datca and I can give you info about that area.

Was addicted to the last one but don't want to get sucked into this one as I will end up staying up late and being very tired as I'm not sleeping well anyway. OMG am moaning tonight like an old woman (which I am I suppose)
